What it usually looks like right before someone calls us

None of these mean your system is about to fail this week. All of them mean nobody has properly looked at it in a while.

  • A walk-in that still holds temperature but runs almost constantly
  • Product loss you have quietly been writing off as shrink
  • The same fault repaired two or three times and back again
  • A tech who has to phone someone else before he can answer you
  • Rooftop units nobody has opened since the day they were installed
  • One compressor failure that took a whole production line with it

The expensive part is rarely the repair

It is the downtime around it, and it is the money spent getting there.

Most of the customers we pick up come to us the same way. They hired a company they believed was commercial, and it turned out to be residential technicians working outside what they know. The units keep going down, the visits keep adding up, and by the time we walk in they have spent tens of thousands of dollars and still do not have a system that holds.

Commercial refrigeration is not a bigger version of a home system. It is a building. Load, airflow, power supply and production schedule all have to line up, and if the person diagnosing it has only ever worked on houses, you get parts replaced instead of problems solved.

How the free inspection works

No call centre, no sales rep, no obligation to buy anything at the end of it.

1

Tell us about the site

Thirty seconds on the form. We call you back to confirm what you are running and book a time that does not interrupt production.

2

We walk the building or plant

An experienced commercial technician goes through the equipment on site. Not a salesperson with a clipboard.

3

You get it in writing

A written report on what is running well, what is at risk, and what a failure would actually cost you. Yours to keep either way.

What that looks like when it goes right

A blueberry plant with three months and no room to be late

We were brought into a blueberry production plant that had to be operational for the start of harvest. Three months, a fixed date, and no version of this where the equipment is nearly ready.

We redesigned the refrigeration around their actual production schedule rather than the original spec, installed it, and had it started up in time. They took berries on the first day of harvest.

Because the plant was running when the fruit arrived, they were able to receive just over a million extra pounds of blueberries they had expected to lose to the calendar.

Why the commercial-only part matters

Most refrigeration and HVAC companies in the Okanagan are residential first, with commercial handled as an afterthought. Their training, their van stock and their scheduling are all built around houses.

We do not have a residential side. Everything we own, everything we stock and everyone we have hired is pointed at commercial and industrial work. That is why we get called in to finish jobs that started somewhere else.

Our technicians are used to working inside an operating business, which means we are also solving the production problem and the power supply problem, not just the refrigeration fault in front of us.

The paperwork

  • TSBC Gas Contractor LGA0206210
  • TSBC Boiler & Steam Contractor LBP0209081
  • Fully insured, certificate on request
  • All work and parts warrantied
  • 24/7 emergency response
Who we are not for. We do not do residential. If you need the furnace or the AC at your house looked at, we are the wrong call, and we would rather tell you that on the phone than send someone out. We are also not the cheapest quote you will get. If the only thing that matters on this job is the lowest number, take the other one with our blessing.

Questions we get asked before booking

Is the inspection actually free?

Yes. You get the walkthrough and the written report at no cost and with no obligation. If we find nothing that needs doing, we will tell you that and you keep the report.

What happens after I send the form?

We call you back to confirm what equipment is on site and book a time that works around your operation. Nothing is scheduled without you agreeing to it first.

Will this interrupt production?

It is a walkthrough and an inspection, so in most cases no. If anything does need the equipment brought down, we tell you before it happens and we schedule it when it suits you.

What if you find something serious?

You get it in writing along with what it would cost if it failed. What you do next is your decision. There is no sign-today pressure and no technician standing in your office waiting on an answer.

We already have a company looking after this.

That is fine, and plenty of people book this as a second opinion. You get an independent written read on your equipment, which is useful whether you stay where you are or not.

Do you cover our location?

We work across the Okanagan, including Kelowna, West Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton, Lake Country, Peachland and Summerland, and we travel further for the right project. Pick the closest town on the form and we will confirm.

Do you do maintenance contracts?

Yes, and for most of our customers that is where this ends up. Choose the maintenance contract option on the form and we will build the inspection around what a contract would need to cover.

Who is actually coming out?

An experienced commercial refrigeration technician from our own crew. We do not subcontract this and we do not send a salesperson.

Find out what your equipment is actually doing

Thirty seconds now is cheaper than finding out during a heatwave with a full cooler.
